For a smile tonight

Agamemnon-in-storm
Okay, in an attempt to find humor tonight, I thought of the perfect song….

Come on, it fits! LOL

moleskineAnd yes, even with surfing online most of the day, I did manage to write on my WIP. Any progress is progress.  I do feel like a mysterious writer…like a Hemingway…writing in my Moleskine (exactly like the one pictured on the left), especially in public. Yes, I did leave the house a few times….tearing my eyes away from the RWA v. Harlequin drama for a little bit. I am amazed how my stats soar when I post publishing news and views.

Okay there you go, if anyone wants to get me something for Christmas, Moleskine notebooks are a good gift. And some black gel ink pens. See, I am easy to please.

Also, my WIP writing is going towards my NaNoWriMo writing total. :)

Just another day…

funny-dog-pictures-dog-saved-your-chips

Okay, now that my site is back up… It was GoDaddy. Their database server was not loading, so in turn, my site wasn’t loading. Ugh!!! I did do a back up of the database, so hopefully, if it happens again today, I have a backup.

I did get back to work on my WIP for Blaze, and I am not so down about it now that I am working on it. :) Got a message on FB from my Thomasville NaNo pal and she’s going to the coffee shop today to write. Now that I straightened out the site, I may go on over there and get a cup of coffee. I’m running on a few cups right now already, maybe something decaf is more likely. I don’t want to jitter on a caffeine high all day…or do I?

My one daughter is now asking for an American Girl doll for Christmas. Those dolls are so expensive. I mean, wow! I was bargaining with her about the doll… I saw BFC dolls or the Madame Alexander dolls at Walmart. I also saw Our Generation dolls online at Target. Those are more in my price range than the AG dolls. The Madame Alexander dolls had some cute outfits right in Walmart, and those will fit any of those 18″ dolls.  Ahh…the joys of being a mom to a girlie girl. My other daughter doesn’t care too much what doll she gets (Thank goodness!) just so long as she gets one too. I think the main attraction about the AG dolls is the fact the company sells matching outfits for the doll and the kid. I’m serious.

Yesterday I took the girls to Brownies. They made cute turkeys out of pine cones. Yes, in January, they will do their first Girl Scout cookie sale. Oh joy. They were looking for a “Cookie Mom” to organize things. Uh…no. Not gonna be me. I think helping my own girls with selling cookies will be enough.

Okay, I’m off to do what I should do…write.

Ugh, okay, I will get back to work on it.

woman writingI’m back to work on my Blaze sub today. Didn’t actually write on it, just read through the last few pages and made a few grammar corrections here and there.I don’t know. I am not very motivated to work on it, but then as Annmarie says, this is THE ONE to get me in Harlequin. So, I am trying to keep that in mind as the possible goal. I will be glad when it is done though. It is not so affectionately referred to as “The Fucker”. Probably not a good thing, but it is taking me forever to write “The Fucker”. I’m sure one day I will love the story again, but right now…not so much. I don’t remember a book taking me so long. Not even Crossed Swords.

I STILL can’t find a #14 Lexmark ink cartridge. I guess it is order online time. I need it so I can print it out for edits and the final draft to mail off.

I’m going to add my word count for “The Fucker” to my NaNo numbers. Why not, it’s still writing without editing.

I have to finish this book. It is hanging over me like a little black raincloud.

Back to business

I’m sitting here getting ready for my RWA chapter meeting tomorrow. Agenda done…check. Workshop organized…check. Just have to print out everything. :)   I’m kinda looking forward to tomorrow. Everyone in the chapter is so awesome. Really, a big boost to my spirits. And I need that about now.

Yeah, bummed again. *sigh* I don’t know what to think about this crap with DM. What the hell? You hear me, dude? What. The. Hell?

ultravioletI met with my new friend from Thomasville today and I worked on my NaNo book. I was leaning toward the idea of two books, but I think I will just mark this as part one of the novel. Part two she goes on and meets another man as she battles more paranormal evils (zombies, man, zombies!). Lots of fun stuff. I am laughing at the idea of battling zombies…and taking on a jackass man who denies his emotions. Ugh. We haven’t known that kind of man in our lives now have we? It’s the kind of man you want to slap up the side of the head and tell him to “Snap out of it!”

And to tease, here’s a portion (unedited) from Hold Me, Thrill Me, Kiss Me, Kill Me that I wrote today:

…dealing out his sentence would be the hardest thing I’d ever have to do. I loved Claude. I didn’t want to kill him. He brought me to life in so many ways. How will I be able to go on knowing I killed the man I loved?

“You aren’t killing me out of duty to your beliefs, Marie,” he said, breaking into my thoughts. I’d forgotten how he could read my mind through our blood connection.

“I don’t see how to view it any other way.”

“When the time comes, you will be helping me.” He turned to me, his blue eyes pierced me with longing, sadness, love. “You will help me by ending the pain within my heart.”

I cocked my head to the side.

He reached for my face and stroked my bottom lip with his thumb. “You were meant to give me peace. Never regret that. Always remember how much I love you.” He leaned closer and tenderly covered my lips with his own.

I loved the feel of his kiss. I wanted more, but I sensed the coming dawn. I felt it as closely as he.

Then he gasped against my lips and pulled away. He turned and faced the rising sun….

Poked with a stick

contact-fishMet the lady I met on the NaNo forums today. Very nice. We’re meeting tomorrow again to actually WRITE. Yeah, we gabbed pretty much the whole time today.

My stomach is doing a tango so I had to forgo actual coffee at the coffee shop. I opted for Earl Grey tea, which is a close second.

Kids are home. I’m nauseated. I’m going to go lay down for a bit. Maybe I can have a few minutes of peace. Anything to make my stomach to settle. Maybe I will write a bit on NaNo…or maybe not. I am liking the idea of making this 2 books more and more. Two lovers…so why not two books? Both Exotika though as they are not romance. No romance required for Exotika.

Okay that picture totally makes me laugh.

Before I go off to write my NaNo mess…

I think the book I’m working on for NaNo will work better as 2 books, one short story and then a short novel. Not a bad thing. I can hand in the short story first and get people wanting more. I had hoped to keep the heroine coming back for at least 3 books anyway.

Okay, today’s funny….the outfit she is wearing in this video….wow…blinding. Much too much leopard print!

She may not be impressed, but dang, the guy on the bike impresses me.

Meeting someone I met online today

Going downtown to Grassroots to meet a lady I met online on the NaNoWriMo forums. I know there has to be more folks in Thomasville doing NaNo this year. Anyway, I’m looking forward to it.

I already know I’ll like her. She asked if she should have a rose so I knew who she was. LOL

Edited to add: The kids have early release day today, so I won’t be meeting her for long. Bummer.

I love this movie, and the older Judy Garland version, In the Good Old Summertime.

Yup, insomnia. But then I did go to bed at 9:30p.
