Dogs and cats living together….mass hysteria.

My two babies, Angel the dog and Mittens the kitty, playing together. Yes, they sleep together…sometimes. I think Angel bides her time to wait until I am not looking…
And AM, I am not the crazy cat lady. So what if she rides on my shoulder walking around the house and out to the van….and while driving to the vet…and home again. Not Polly wants a cracker… Oh yeah, make the pussy jokes….
No wait, in Lady Sheba, Set calls Kat a nickname….Pussy Girl! My ex-fiance had a good laugh about that one saying something like, “Now that is a superheroine I want to see!” I had let him read the book as I wrote it. No, we weren’t together at the time. We found each other online a few years ago, and we still chat. I see him mostly on FB. He’s a big doof.
He is funny…and better off married to someone else. I like him better as a friend now than a lover then, even though there was something about him that just got to me. Can’t explain what it was. One of those smacked in the gut reactions. He was not handsome by any means (sorry John) but he had magnetism. That sense of I-have-to-touch-him-somehow type reactions. I loved holding his hand and just being held.
1–2–3 Awww.
I had a few boyfriends in the past, but I was never the one-night-stand type. I don’t see how sex can mean anything without love. Probably why I like romance so much. Had 3 serious relationships in my life, and they were one right after another. I broke up with my HS sweetheart (The Jerk), and took me a year to sample the dating pool again. First date: John. Then a few years of ups and downs, I broke up with him. (We broke up several times over the years, but the final time was me.) Two months later I met Mark…a frat brother of a friend’s bf…in a bar…playing darts… Got engaged two weeks later. No, really. Shocker was I said yes.
So going back to the pussy joke. Er…Pussy Girl, probably not a good name. (Right up there with Pussy Galore.)
Meow. LOL

Too tired tonight
Vote for my kitten Mittens on the Progressive.com website as “Pet of the Week”: http://www.progressive.com/petphotos/pet-image.aspx?id=8860
Tonight we took the kids to their school’s “Jingle Bell Run/Walk”. Well, I didn’t run, but I did help untangle bags of bell necklaces to hand out to everyone. We stayed to watch the tree lighting too. They put a nice big tree on the roof of the new school building. Very pretty.
I really don’t have much to post tonight. Sitting here watching Mittens go to town on a new scratching post I got her. She is so spoiled. Mommy’s baby. She makes me laugh.
Kinda tired tonight. Too tired to be clever.

Save me from the dark…
Today I’m going back to the bookstore to write. I did good yesterday while there. I also wrote a few pages before going to sleep last night. (Few pages is not much in a little notebook, but they add up.) I’m glad to be making progress. Anything at this point to get closer to being done. And I am sooooo close.
I got to do some housework this weekend. I told my kids we could put up the tree Sunday. *sigh* I don’t really feel like it, but I promised. I am not in the holiday spirit. I don’t even want to bother with Christmas. One good thing about the whole putting up the tree…it is pre-lit. We bought a pre-lit tree last year. I hate messing with tree lights, so the pre-lit tree is a plus.
I’m bummed, but not so bad as I have been. Mittens helps. She loves for me to hold her and pet her. She is so affectionate. She meows at me to be held. She plays with my hair when she lays on my shoulder against my neck too. Isn’t that cute? My only trouble with her is the kids crowd her, especially when she is on my shoulder.

Post Thanksgiving plans?
I hope everyone here in the US had a great Thanksgiving. I did. I’d show pictures, but I lost my USB cord to my Sanyo camera. I ordered a new one online. Some reason, the standard doesn’t fit. I had a Sony but it is not working again. I have to cord to that one. Ugh.
Any plans for the weekend? Not me. I was going to do the book signing tomorrow, but that won’t happen. My book wasn’t ordered…although heard one of the other authors (with a small press) had hers ordered no problem. So, uh, why wasn’t mine, a book with Simon & Schuster, not ordered? Things that make me hate bookstore signings just a bit more. I remember one I did in Tallahassee at the local B&N in the Tallahassee Mall. The manager stuck us in the back of the store where no one would find us. It was a wasted day IMHO. They didn’t want us there…until WCTV showed up. Yeah, I was on the news that night. Still…
I’m going to see if I can do a book signing here in my town during one of the upcoming events–Victorian Christmas.Even if I just do a meet and greet, that would be cool. You know, the local author helping out at the small town bookstore. Not a bad idea. Maybe I should talk to them tomorrow.
The picture is of my kitten Mittens, although I call her Booboo because she has a thing for playing peekaboo. I took it with my phone. She’s all checked out by the vet too. Nice and healthy. I’ll be honest, I was so damn down for weeks, and this little kitten has really helped. She is a little ball of fluff and mischief, and she makes me laugh.
Anyway, I don’t have plans now for the weekend. I should do some writing. I don’t know if that will happen with brother here and my mom coming over every day. Not that I am complaining. I just don’t see writing as one of the things I’ll be doing much of. I did add more to my WIP the other day, but I didn’t tally it yet.
Okay, I’m going to head probably head off to bed.

Ugh. Holidays.
I’m sitting here watching the new kitty playing in her play cube with a toy. Very sweet. Very playful. When she gets tired, she lays on the printer/scanner. There’s a “cat scan” joke in there somewhere. Angel (my dog) is not tolerating this new addition easily.
One interesting thing happened last night during my trip home from the airport. On the way down we spotted two deer. Not overly surprising right? No. But on the way home I swear a bobcat raced across the road. Yeah, a bobcat. I have two witnesses, my mom and brother both saw it as well.
The holiday is coming, and I have my brother here staying with us. He bought the Wii Sports Resort game and we played a little of that once the kids got home from school. The Wii Motion Plus attachment to the Wii remote is required to play, so we had to take turns. We need to get another one of the Motion Plus attachments.
Ugh. Holidays.

My new baby

All I went to the pet store for was Frontline….but then the store owner said he had some free kittens…and I saw her. I knew she was meant to come home with me. My girls loved her on sight too. They named her Mittens.
Yeah, the dogs are still excitable about the new little one. She has taken to laying on my desk. I have a feeling she is going to be a great little writing pal.
