Facebook is still the devil, Dorchester’s shakey future, etc.
I am absolutely clueless as to what to write. I’ve been playing on Facebook for 2 hours with my writer profile, and not writing!! Shame on me. Add in that Scott and Ron set up Team Tepperman and Team Ron Bordner pages and I’ve been messing around looking at those…okay and chatting to them a tiny bit. So go check them out and join their “teams”. Oh and Scott is on GHI tonight on SyFy…and says it is a good one to watch.
The latest buzz about Dorchester going ebook and trade paperback is quite interesting to watch. I do feel sorry for the authors who sold to them to discover their books will not be mass market paperbacks. One author on another site said her book isn’t going to print at all, just ebook–and it is due out next month. That is horrible. Quite frankly I have this “wait and see” attitude about them. This is quite a change. Of course, news that they PAY their authors would be definite news to listen for, because as of right now, they aren’t. My suggestion to Dorchester: If you go ebook, consider a reader service for the Kindle, nook, etc.
Uh yeah, I still want the new Kindle.
Okay, I’m off for some coffee…a bagel and cream cheese…and some writing. I’m writing longhand in a Moleskine…going to continue to do so. Like Devy said, I will end up adding more to it when I type it up. So true.

Wednesday update…
I’m going out today with the kidlets to the water park. I am personally sick of the place, but it won’t be long until the kids are back in school.
While out I hope to write in a notebook. Bought a new Moleskin a few days ago at Books a Million. Got the Moleskine Volant notebook. Basically it is bigger than the pocket notebook and in a rainbow of colors. I got blue. I like it as I can clip a printed copy of the previous chapter to it. I need to update my ipod with some music. I have been writing to movie soundtracks, as usual. Right now I like Master & Commander, Charge of the Light Brigade, and 300. Not romantic, I know, but I don’t need it all soft and fluffy to write romance. In the book, it is more of a Battle of Wills *cough* Not that I would know anything about that.
Looks like I will presenting a few workshops in the upcoming months for the Ancient City Romance Writers in St. Augustine. I’ve been asked to present my workshop The Erotic Element in November at the Southeast Regional Library in Jacksonville, Florida, and Creating the Online Presence via Yahoo loop discussion. Check the link about for info about the RWA chapter and their meetings. I highly suggest the Writers Boot Camp in September. Multi published and Award winning author, Patricia Potter, will presenting a workshop. Also Joyce Holland, an Associate Agent with Robert Diforio Literary Agency, will be taking pitches!
Don’t forget to watch Ghost Hunters International tonight at 9pm on SyFy. Tallahassee ghost hunter and ALPHA Ghost Team pal, Scott Tepperman, will be on! Last week was his debut. It was very cool. (Isn’t he a hot looking guy? It gets better, he is hysterical to talk to. The picture is from last July when we went to an event together. He got me a little buzzed… Oh come on, he’s the perfect gentleman. We had a great time.)

Congrats to GHI’s Scott Tepperman
Congrats to my friend Scott for his debut on SyFy’s GHI tonight. It was awesome. Heh…not everyone can say they texted a SyFy star on the rise right after the show, but I did, and he answered right away too. So stardom hasn’t gone to his head yet. Congrats Scott!

Nothing to lose…nothing to hold back…nothing to hide.
I said I was going to work today. I did, first thing this morning. I did paperwork that needed to be done for my chapter. All I can say is, I will be glad when I can pass the sword (responsibility) to a new president for 2011. I love my chapter, but I’m a bit burned out. I need a break from it.
Speaking of “passing the sword”, I’m being encouraged to write more. I have been incredibly lazy. I know it. It must stop. I’m going to use a short story to get me back into gear. I have this idea for a Quickie or a novella for Ellora’s Cave. (I don’t know if I can do Quickie length well anymore.) Anyway it will be in first person from the heroine’s POV where she tells how she got into BDSM. She starts out thinking one way, but discovers her true self with the help of a sexy Marine who introduces her to the pleasures of submission. I’m tentatively calling the story Nothing to Hide.
Yeah…into Marines lately. Very sexy. Maybe it is the sword. You know, I like my pirates and swords, and now…
*ahem*
Shut up, Annmarie.
LOL!!

Re-Post: GHI’s newest member, Scott from ALPHA Ghost Team
Looks like Scott is getting all famous. He’s got his first interview on the Ghost Hunter Fans blog. Click the image below to read it.
I had a giggle at the karaoke comment. Yeah, he does love that. LOL And he’s good too, especially singing Head Sprung.

I rediscovered my writing style
Today I am home working on edits for my ghost hunter novel. This weekend the book took a turn for the better. Saturday I had an epiphany. My heroine was too serious for my hero. He’s serious and it fits his character, but she needed to loosen up with a some more humor. When they are together, the banter is just so fun because she brings out his more relaxed and flirtatious side. I’m racing to keep up with the changes and the tone is definitely better.
In doing the rewrites, I am wondering if I was trying to adapt my style to the other books in the Blaze line, thus making it harder for me to write. I shouldn’t try to adapt my style, and instead I should let my style come through. All in all, I am liking this more. The story was good, but now it is better.
Here’s a snippet of what I mean:
In riding with Daniel she’d made a serious tactical error. The entire situation reminded her of a bully on a playground calling her a chicken. In the attempt to prove herself, she made a mistake costing her hours alone with Daniel–long, grueling hours of smelling his damn fine aftershave which seemed to be enhanced by his body’s chemistry. No man had the right to smell so delicious.
Brooke bit her bottom lip and suppressed the urge to yell at him. Screaming wouldn’t solve anything. She’d fallen into his trap, her tormented I-need-to-come-now-now-now condition her own fault.
Infuriating man. Who would have guessed Daniel could be so…so…manipulative? He tricked her into the long drive from Tallahassee to Andersonville by issuing a challenge, and she accepted without really thinking out the consequences.
Okay, note to self: beware quiet, sexy analytical type paranormal investigators issuing challenges.
Okay, did you giggle once or twice while reading that?
