Booksigning today in Tallahassee.

Look at all this. This is stuff I have to take with me today. I am so not carrying this. I already got my handcart/luggage thingie ready. Ugh.

Getting ready for today’s events–FPHRW meeting and then later the Meet and Greet local author book signing. For details, check this post. The Meet and Greet starts at 2p at Julie’s Place in Tallahassee.

Coffee and Kink

No, I haven’t had my coffee yet. I have to go make a pot. I got some major writing to do today, and I can’t seem to wake up. My mind is off on other things…gotta focus. A bit stressed at the moment.

This week I need to go check out Spencer’s down in Tallahassee to fill my “Hot Love” basket for the ACRA Boot Camp next month. I already have a few thing in it that will get everyone gasping in shock…then entering to win it. Let’s just say it has some kinky stuff in it… For more on ACRA and the Boot Camp, visit the ACRA site.

I also need to get some stuff for the FPHRW door prize basket for our Meet & Greet on Aug 21 at Julie’s Place in Tallahassee. For more, visit the FPHRW site.

Heh…the coffee spanker ad makes me laugh… Ties in my kink basket and coffee together nicely.

Friday Music Video: Unwell by Matchbox Twenty

No particular reason for the song other than I like it. (I feel fine, no worries.) I’m planning on doing some writing today as well as a little house cleaning. Kids being home for 2 months, and my house looks it. Can’t do much beyond basics, they mess it up faster than I can straighten. They go back to school the first week of August…and they will have a sad awakening when I go through their room and get rid of stuff.

I got my stuff from Lover’s Lane. Stuck some of it in the “Hot Love” basket for ACRA’s Writers Boot Camp in September.

I would like to encourage any Tallahassee (and the surrounding region) authors and readers to come to the FPHRW “Meet and Greet” on August 21st. [link]

FPHRW, the Tallahassee RWA chapter, meets today

I’m off today to Tallahassee to take care of some business. *sigh* I meet with my Board this morning and then I have a general business meeting right afterward. After lunch one of our members, Jamie, is doing a query letter workshop.

Best part is we have a slave boy at Julie’s who takes care of us. Heh…sweet.

For those finding my blog in search of the Tallahassee RWA chapter, Florida Panhandle Romance Writers, check out our site at www.fphrw.org.

I had planned on going to the National convention this year, but I may be changing that. I am thinking of opting for the GA Moonlight & Magnolias conference in October instead. Closer and cheaper.

I’m going to finish this weekend. Seriously.

I have the last chapter of my book to write this weekend. I’m excited about it as it is going to be funny. Funny and sweet. It’s going to be awesome. And for my Tallahassee visitors (*waving to Terri & Dana*) the last scene in the book takes place in Julie’s Place where FPHRW has their meetings.

Hmm, Dana, think I need the ghost team to get up and sing some NSYNC? LOL God, that was funny.

Oh yeah, Dana, I have to email you. I think the idea of a signing/meet & greet at Julie’s sounds great. I am such a spaz in not hitting “reply” on your email.

Other than doing some cleaning in my living room and writing, I’m taking the girls to work a cookie stand outside Lowe’s. It is the last weekend of the Girl Scout cookie sale. The girls are going to use their cuteness to sell. LOL Ahh, my lessons in using their “feminine wiles” will come in handy. :)

Oh and if you’re wondering why I am up so early on a Saturday, I’ll tell you. The husband had the alarm set for 5:15a. He hit snooze and it went off again. I’m not very happy with him at the moment. I wanted to sleep…

Running on 4 cups of coffee

Aayla__by_Lithuin226684oh17q4jzdrI had a wonderful day with my writing friends in Tallahassee. The meeting was kinda short as the board was not there today, just me. However we did hold elections and I am President for another year. Next year I hope to pass the reins to Tracy. I will definitely need a break by then.

Love having our meetings at Julies. The server guy spoils us. Has the coffee all ready when we walk in. That is a big plus in my book. I think he missed us calling him our slave boy. I will have to do that next time.

I stopped at BAM on the way home and picked up 2 magazines, Writer’s Digest and Writer’s Yearbook 2010. I’m kinda beat right now, so I am going to take my new mags and go lay in bed and read. I have a pile of books to read, but I really haven’t been inclined to pick up any.

I’ve been seriously thinking about getting back to my WIP tomorrow. I think I need to just finish the damn thing at this point. I’m considering writing it out longhand then going back later to type it up.

Oh man I’m exhausted.Yeah, my pillow is calling. My dog won’t mind me laying down either. :) I need some puppy love.

Back to business

I’m sitting here getting ready for my RWA chapter meeting tomorrow. Agenda done…check. Workshop organized…check. Just have to print out everything. :)   I’m kinda looking forward to tomorrow. Everyone in the chapter is so awesome. Really, a big boost to my spirits. And I need that about now.

Yeah, bummed again. *sigh* I don’t know what to think about this crap with DM. What the hell? You hear me, dude? What. The. Hell?

ultravioletI met with my new friend from Thomasville today and I worked on my NaNo book. I was leaning toward the idea of two books, but I think I will just mark this as part one of the novel. Part two she goes on and meets another man as she battles more paranormal evils (zombies, man, zombies!). Lots of fun stuff. I am laughing at the idea of battling zombies…and taking on a jackass man who denies his emotions. Ugh. We haven’t known that kind of man in our lives now have we? It’s the kind of man you want to slap up the side of the head and tell him to “Snap out of it!”

And to tease, here’s a portion (unedited) from Hold Me, Thrill Me, Kiss Me, Kill Me that I wrote today:

…dealing out his sentence would be the hardest thing I’d ever have to do. I loved Claude. I didn’t want to kill him. He brought me to life in so many ways. How will I be able to go on knowing I killed the man I loved?

“You aren’t killing me out of duty to your beliefs, Marie,” he said, breaking into my thoughts. I’d forgotten how he could read my mind through our blood connection.

“I don’t see how to view it any other way.”

“When the time comes, you will be helping me.” He turned to me, his blue eyes pierced me with longing, sadness, love. “You will help me by ending the pain within my heart.”

I cocked my head to the side.

He reached for my face and stroked my bottom lip with his thumb. “You were meant to give me peace. Never regret that. Always remember how much I love you.” He leaned closer and tenderly covered my lips with his own.

I loved the feel of his kiss. I wanted more, but I sensed the coming dawn. I felt it as closely as he.

Then he gasped against my lips and pulled away. He turned and faced the rising sun….
