For the SECOND time in the past month or so, New Concepts Publishing has taken a partial from an author (the partial was contracted but never finished) and has made additions to the book without the approval of the creating author, thus violating her copyrights. (According to the contract, any significant changes must be approved by the author. This is not the case.)
I wholeheartedly can say this is a publisher to avoid. I, myself, have had my dealings with the company, and they currently hold 3 of my books, refusing to release the rights until the contract expires in 2010. In so refusing to release my books, I have been personally insulted and belittled by the owner without any provocation on my part.
Again, New Concepts Publishing is, in my opinion, unprofessional and a publisher to be avoided.

Dear goddess, not again!
At this point I feel insulted just to have a book published with them even if it is under another pen name. At least I can say (as I’m sure many others have about them): NEVER AGAIN!
What a shame the family running NCP can’t seem to learn from their own mistakes.
It’s not a total surprise since the title was listed under the Public Notice page theyt have on their website. They even had it listed on the coming soon page. I thought it was interesting the book is listed as “Debut Authors”. I wonder if this means 2 new pen names for the owners?
For the love of Keanu…
AM
You KNOW the other 2 are owners pen name. Not a hard one to figure out. Madris had that temper tantrum on the inner author list, which, of course, spilled over to Karen Scott’s blog. This morning I quit the reader loop but not before identifying Madris as the writer of the bullying emails…and dared her to delete my comment. She deleted the entire loop. *laughs*

I filed a complaint with the Authors’ Guild today.
