Hello! Firstly, I’d like to thank Mari for letting me post on her blog today. It’s a pleasure to be here. It looks gorgeous over here, doesn’t it? What an amazing, neat and beautiful site.
My name is Yolanda Sfetsos and I write urban fantasy, paranormal tales with an edge of darkness and a little magic. I’ve got eBooks available from Cobblestone Press, Forbidden Publications and Whispers Publishing. I’m also one of the authors included in the Whispers Midnight Fantasies print anthology, and have an upcoming novel coming from Tease Tarot.
To be honest, I pretty much can’t write a story unless there’s some sort of supernatural thing involved. Honestly. I’ve tried, but my muse and mind just don’t seem to want to weave a tale unless there’s a supernatural thread in there somewhere.
Although, my latest release is actually a Sci-Fi. This is the beautiful cover:
It was made by the very talented Sable Grey. I love it. It’s perfect in capturing the heroine as well as the surroundings in my novella.
Actually, PROMISE IN EDEN is my first adventure into writing Sci-Fi. I’ve always been a huge fan of it and was heavily influenced by the author Philip K. Dick, the TV shows Andromeda and Firefly, the Star Wars movies, and even Event Horizon. EH actually helped me realize that a Sci-Fi movie didn’t just have to be about Sci-Fi, you could throw some freaky stuff in there too. And that’s also the reason why I actually enjoyed Jason X.
Oh, asides from the fact that I’m a horror fan from way back.
I was horrified when I found out they were going to put Jason Voorhees in space, but actually enjoyed his space adventure. Once again, freaky and bizarre. A crazed-murdering psycho that can never be killed still had the chance to slash his way through the body count even in the Science Fiction realm.
Now, you’re probably wondering where this is leading? Lol.
My Sci-Fi novella isn’t just about a woman who happens to be a courier and delivers whatever will get her enough credits to survive and keep her ship in working condition. Nope, it’s also about a woman with a childhood full of shattered dreams and a tough exterior to keep her from getting hurt.
However, when she crash lands on a planet called Eden, everything she ever believed and thought she could keep under control is challenged. Meeting Cody changes her life, and not just because he’s hot and gets her heart pumping. He claims he can perform magic.
And there you have it, I just couldn’t write a story without a paranormal element. But you know, I like to call my writing Otherworldly, because I think this is the one word able to capture my stumbling into a variety of genres. ;)
Thanks for reading!

I love to read paranormals and think it’s wonderful that your muse can only hear the call of such stories.
Thanks so much, Angel! I’m the same, love paranormals.
