Done

The rough draft of Chasing the Shadows is done. Tomorrow begins the editing process. Ah rewrites. Gotta love it. I know I need to add possibly 3 scenes to the book because of stuff I added in the last few chapters. I did the same thing when I wrote Crossed Swords. I wasn’t sure who the villain was until 3/4s of the way through, so I had to go back and expand his character.

I wrote while in the bedroom today. It was the only place I could go to lock out the kids and husband, although the concept of a door closed seems to be lost on all of them. At one point it was every 5 minutes I had an interruption. *sigh*

Then Mittens (my cat) was all psycho and chasing my feet. (I wasn’t actually in bed, just on it.) She was bouncing all over the room. And when she wants attention (when not chasing my feet), she walks on my keyboard. Nice. At one point she was laying on my scene cards, turning the pages to my CtS moleskin notebook, and chasing the string on my cards folder. Ugh. But it broke the time with some laughs.

I will be glad when this book is out the door. I plan on taking a week to spring clean my house. I’ve been so not in cleaning mode, so my house looks a mess. Add in the depression giving me 0 motivation to clean (’cause I didn’t care), and you know my house needs a good once over.

Thanks to all the people who helped me through my personal hell as well as finishing the draft of the book from hell. Special thanks goes to Annmarie for not letting me quit, even when I cried to her on the phone. [She even posted on her blog tonight about my finishing the draft.] And thanks to Devyn for telling me how she suffered over a book and cried, and then was determined to finish so all those spent emotions weren’t in vain. It was brilliant.

Sunday update…closing myself off from the world to write!

Okay been on Wellbutrin for a few days and I continue to feel better. I actually had a good time yesterday outside Lowes. There were a few parents there and I was joking around with them. One father (who had the sexiest blue eyes) was hilarious comparing selling GS cookies to dealing crack to a crack whore. LOL He was on the phone to friends getting orders from his friends like a drug dealer. I did notice that men were more likely to buy than women, so setting up at Lowes was brilliant to catch them as they come out. Yes, the girls had a good time too. The troop was nearly sold out of cookies by the time we left.

Oh and I did hear about the recall for the lemon GS cookie. Ours weren’t affected. I hadn’t bought any. I prefer the do-si-dos (peanut butter sandwich cookies….yum!)

I’m reading through my first submissions for Passion In Print Press. I want to stress here as I will also at my editorial blog, don’t send in something that isn’t ready. I’m writing up submission guidelines and will be posting those soon. For more go to my Editor Mari blog.

Okay, I’m off to check emails and get ready to write today. I’m shutting myself in my bedroom and putting on the iPod and working on the LAST CHAPTER of Chasing the Shadows. Whooohooo!

I’m going to finish this weekend. Seriously.

I have the last chapter of my book to write this weekend. I’m excited about it as it is going to be funny. Funny and sweet. It’s going to be awesome. And for my Tallahassee visitors (*waving to Terri & Dana*) the last scene in the book takes place in Julie’s Place where FPHRW has their meetings.

Hmm, Dana, think I need the ghost team to get up and sing some NSYNC? LOL God, that was funny.

Oh yeah, Dana, I have to email you. I think the idea of a signing/meet & greet at Julie’s sounds great. I am such a spaz in not hitting “reply” on your email.

Other than doing some cleaning in my living room and writing, I’m taking the girls to work a cookie stand outside Lowe’s. It is the last weekend of the Girl Scout cookie sale. The girls are going to use their cuteness to sell. LOL Ahh, my lessons in using their “feminine wiles” will come in handy. :)

Oh and if you’re wondering why I am up so early on a Saturday, I’ll tell you. The husband had the alarm set for 5:15a. He hit snooze and it went off again. I’m not very happy with him at the moment. I wanted to sleep…
