Stop draggin my heart around
Not motivated to do much of anything today.
I do feel like someone has been draggin’ my heart around.

Not mutual consent
Red Rose Publishing continues to sell Stolen by the Sheikh. I was informed a lawyer would contact me, however this has not happened. As I feel I have no other choice legally (even though the contract states a mutual consent by both author and publisher is needed for the renewal of contract) I have petitioned the owner of the termination of contract in 90 days as per another contract clause. I emailed my letter and will be sending a hard copy via receipted postal service tomorrow.

For Patriot: How about some Beach Blanket Bingo?
Hey Patriot, you trying to get female attention from AM and I? Well, you got it! (This is in response to his post to us.)
I had to post this video for you. The song makes me laugh…. Besides, you get some shakin’ booty too.
Does Frankie’s hair ever move? I don’t think so!
And dude, I’m not a sidekick! LOL

New freebie read on my site
It’s been a long weekend for me. Yesterday I had ovarian pain all day so moving was out of the question. Thank goodness that lasts for only a day. I did, however, get more done on Out of Control, which is very cool. I worked a bit more on the story today and I’m up to 4200 words. I figured about 10,000 words for this short. May come in just under, I don’t know. I’m making it up as I go along. I figured I’d finish this in a few days then go back to my ghost hunter book.
Wanna teaser? Oh okay…This is in 1st person, which is fun to write in for obvious reasons.
I needed him inside me.
His hips ground into mine, and I felt the distinct erection pressing into me. Hot, hard, and ready. Fuck yeah.
Clasping my head between his hands, he kissed me deeply and I lost awareness of the world around me. Nothing existed but Ryan and me.
He broke the kiss, his breath short and labored. “I would fuck you here and now, but I don’t think that would be entirely legal.”
I laughed softly, enjoying the break in intensity. “We’re sure to get arrested for indecent exposure.”
“Or engaging in lewd public acts.”
I smiled up at him and said, “We’d better go then.”
“My place or yours?”
“I don’t care. Just so I can get naked with you.”

I’d put aside one project and then worked on another when I was writing Raife (the fourth Descendants of Darkness installment) while at Amber Quill. I was in the middle of the story but had to take a break from it. I wrote Ante Up and then went back to Raife. It was a good move as the time away made me excited about the book again.
I decided to not bother trying to find another epub for Ante Up. It is retiring to a freebie read on my website. Download a copy of Ante Up by visiting my website at www.mariannelacroix.com and check the sidebar for Ante Up and several other stories I am giving away.
Oh yeah, I read another Spice Brief today, Dreamer by Kate Austen. It was a strange POV, third person present tense. It was all right. It was more of a self pleasure story where the heroine masturbates with an assortment of toys but can’t orgasm. Years before she met some man in a bar and he’d ruined her ability to orgasm. (?!?!?) I’ve heard of women not being able to climax, particularly during sex, but wow… (No, that doesn’t apply to me. LOL)
I did go and get 2 more Briefs, Eye of the Storm by Delilah Devlin (who is in the Royal Bondage antho with me) and Wet by Lauren Hawkeye.

I tried to find the clip to post, but this was the best I could find. It’s for pal Ray in Chicago who is getting ready for his beloved Bears.

EC goes Kindle, iPhone & Sony eReader

Got an email this morning from Ellora’s Cave that they were in the process of uploading their 2800+ ebook library to be available for the Kindle. Then they were also working on getting EC books on the iPhone as iPhone apps, starting with EC Quickies and free reads. Then finally, they were about to negotiate to get EC books on the Sony.
This is all good news for us authors with books at EC.
I know EC said that the paperbacks for the “Naughty Nuptials” would be out this summer, but so far I haven’t heard anything further about their release. My EC Quickie Bridesmaid and the Beast was to be included in Even Naughtier Nuptials.
Also Men After Midnight is on sale (and has been for about 2 months) at the Jasmine Jade website for 7.99 (reg. 12.99). (Why my new title is on sale and for so long, I don’t know. Would have been nice to have the book at Nationals to sell, I would have sold several copies as people were asking for it. But I didn’t have any.)

Spice Briefs
Sorry, I haven’t posted earlier than this. I woke up this morning and read a Spice Brief, Layover by Megan Hart, and then stayed in bed for a little while. Even though I had a hysterectomy and one ovary removed, I still have the other. And a long time sufferer of Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome, it hits me every other month now (as I only have that one ovary). I was in a little pain so I just took some medicine and stayed in bed for a little longer. I feel better now.
Then I went straight to writing. Not my ghost hunter book, another story, one I am targeting for Spice Briefs, thus why I read Layover this morning and No Longer Forbidden by Portia Da Costa last night.
Here’s the blurb for No Longer Forbidden:
Only one thing drew Annie to her ten-year high school reunion: Nicholas Laurence, her former math teacher. As soon as their eyes meet, she knows their forbidden desire is as strong as ever. Only this time, there are no rules keeping them apart…
It was steamy to say the least! I thought it was amusing that she was 19 when in his math class so it didn’t seem too creepy.
Layover was pretty good too. I was impressed. I knew Megan back from Amber Quill when I wrote for them. She’s come a long way since then. Hope I can do as well someday, at least now that my mojo has returned.
Here’s the blurb for Layover:
The first time she’d met him, he’d been blindfolded and at her mercy. Partnered in a trust exercise, Graham had been enticed by the allure of Julia’s voice, and eagerly followed her direction to navigate a maze. But as a warm friendship developed between them, their mutual attraction remained unacknowledged. And in the long-distance e-mail relationship that followed, their reticence persisted. Until the day a cancelled flight stranded Julia in Graham’s home town.
Both tried to play it cool, though each had approached their dinner date with intense anticipation. But the minute they stepped into Julia’s hotel room, the flood gates opened and their unfettered passion exploded. What really excited Julia, though, was that as in the trust exercise, Graham was great at taking direction. Because what really excited Graham was pleasuring Julia as no one else ever had.
So, I had started my own little story targeted for Spice Briefs. It’s a tiny diversion from my main WIP just so I can go back to it a little refreshed. I’d worked on that book for 2 months and I need a few days break from it.
My story is going to be about 10K and I have 2500 words written on it already. I figure in a few days it will be done. I am writing it in first person, a POV I haven’t written in since Bridesmaid and the Beast, so it is refreshing in that aspect alone. The theme is an online relationship turning into a real life love affair. That’s basically all I will reveal until it is contracted–wherever that will be. As I said, I am planning on submitting it to Spice Briefs at Harlequin first. If they don’t take it, I will decide from there. I could give it to an epub, but I am considering one of those Mammoth anthologies of erotica for women.
Oh, my working title for my story is Out of Control. It’s a working title, which means it could change.
The writer within is back!!

UPDATE: 11p
I wrote more on Out of Control and it is up to 3700 words. Let AM read Chapter One for a “Damn this is GOOD” response. I like those pats on the head. Keeps me going. LOL
