DC train crash
Know the train crash in DC on Monday? Needless to say I was afraid my brother was on that train as I know he does take the train to and from work. Luckily he was on a different train. *whew*
My heart goes out to the victims and their families of this terrible accident.

Break from Drama to finish a book
I am doing an unofficial survey on epub author income per title by publisher. It is nothing backed by any organization, just a survey to attempt to bring information forward to those who want to know. If you wish to complete the survey, please visit http://surveys.polldaddy.com/s/904EFBDB8B8B97FD/
There are groups getting going on trying to make changes in the RWA and I think it is a good thing for any member to check out, especially if they are epublished.
As for me, I need to take a break from the drama. I am trying to get a book done for Nationals to pitch. That is my priority at the moment. The survey will remain up for a while to collect info.

RWAchange YahooGroup
“In response to the debacle that was Diane Pershing’s response regarding the current high-level position on digital publishing, a group has been started.
If you think digital publishing has a place in our world
If you think digital publishing needs a voice in RWA
If you think digital published authors deserve education on the ins and outs of specifically digital publishing
Please join.”

RWA, EPUBLISHING, ETC.
First, check this out:
http://espan-rwa.com/the-digital-age-and-rwa-a-call-for-change/
Thank you Deidre Knight for taking up on this!
And now my (reposted) comment:
I know epublished authors can and do make money epublishing. The Board is calling for “hard numbers” to back the claims. If anyone is willing to turn in their numbers (as in income for 2008 as claimed on taxes), that would help. If you wish to turn them in to me privately, email to me at marilacroix @ yahoo.com (no spaces). I will keep your identity confidential.
Also, if any epublished author can tell me exactly what they want from RWA, please email me that as well. I mean, what do we all want? How can the RWA show support for the epublished members? Does it come down to the RITAs or is there something else?
Seriously, send me your info. I am one of your reps on the Industry Changes committee, and I NEED input to back me up…in turn, backing up the epublished community.
