Update

From an email I sent out yesterday:

Hey everyone,

I am home from the hospital but my recovery is going to take a little longer. My incision is draining and as it turns out, he had to open ita little and now I have a home health nurse to come and change my dressing daily. (I’m a nurse, but I can’t pack my own wound. I don’teven want to look at it.) This is to go on for a few weeks as far as I know. In other words, I am out of commission for a while.

I only jumped online for a few minutes here. I do check via a pocketpc.Typing on that is a bit limited.

Talk to you all soon. I am going to go back and lay down now.

Surgery Friday

Yep, surgery is definitely Friday. I am having a total abdominal hysterectomy. I’ll be in the hospital over the weekend. Right now I am trying some different pain medicine to help with the pain, but it is not really helping all that much. I may end up going in the hospital for a few days for pain management until surgery. Let’s hope it doesn’t come to that.

*sigh*

Unfortunately, the days haven’t brought me much relief. Friday was like playing tag with the doctor as he was in surgery all day. However, I did speak with his nurse who told me that a hysterectomy will have to be scheduled for this week. Good thing I canceled RT this year. I’ll be laid up.

I don’t know what day this week this will happen, I’ll find that out tomorrow.

Before I go back to bed with my trusty heating pad, I want to share my new cover. THE DARK KNIGHT comes out from Resplendence Publishing in June. Here’s a blurb:

Lord Marco Cordoba, the Moorish Prince of Castilla de la Cordoba, is a man tormented by the past. Unable to save his bride Isobel from an evil vampire, Marco vows to stop at nothing to destroy the creature even if it meant becoming the very thing he hated—a vampire.

Now, more than seven hundred years later, Marco stalks the dark shadows of his castle in Spain. Haunted by his memories and failure, Marco is ready to end his lonely existence. But then a light of hope enters the deserted halls of his castle—Christine, a woman that he believes is the reincarnation of his beloved bride. With her arrival at the castle, the demon that long escaped Marco’s revenge returns to take her soul along with her life. Can Marco destroy the creature before he kills again? Will Christine recognize Marco as her knight in shining armor?

The pain continues

Can you believe I am still having pain problems? I have been uncomfortable for a few weeks since the surgery, but today about 4:30pm, I had an attack. I don’t know how to describe it other than an attack because that is what it was. I was writhing in pain. I popped some Vicodin (prescribed for me last month after surgery) and went to bed. Forty five minutes later I am still in pain from mid abdomen through my groin into my left thigh to my knee. Like a rope being pulled through my body. So, I called the doctor’s office but they were closed. I then called the hospital. (Knowledge as a nurse does come in handy.) I asked to have the “on call” GYN doctor to be beeped and call me back. A few minutes later she called me and, thank God, she remembered me and my case. We talked and decided to meet tomorrow in the office to talk about a hysterectomy.

I did eventually get some pain control once I applied a heating pad. Seems muscle or ligament related because I did get some relief almost on contact.

In other words, it ain’t over yet. Probably a good thing I canceled RT. At this rate, I wouldn’t have been able to go.

Taxy Day 2009

Got yours done? I do. For once in the past few years, I’m not spending the 15th doing taxes.
