I had a stroke of bad luck all week. Earlier in the week I was feverish and sick to go to the doctor and test positive for Strep throat (eek!).
Just when I start to feel better…it happens.
Yesterday on an errand to take dry clothes to the kids at the Y, a guy in a Ford F150 ran a stop sign and crashed into me in my new van. He didn’t swerve to avoid. He didn’t slow down. I swerved and hit the brakes, but he kept coming fast. I am okay if a little sore and still shaken. If I didn’t swerve, I probably would be in the hospital. He plowed into my van on the front end on the driver side. The damage is obvious this guy was going full speed. It was no little dent, metal was torn to shreds. So, my van is awaiting police reports and insurance processing to be repaired. Of course, he got a ticket as he was at fault. He said differently, of course. I will know if he officially contests the ticket in Sept. for the court date if he doesn’t pay the ticket.
