Jane Austen Fight Club
Saw this for the first time on Annmarie’s blog and I had to lift it. I think it is hilarious.I would pay money to see a movie like this.
I got housework to do today…at least this morning. I am through with the Pony-land set up in my living room. Also need to catch up on some laundry…wash and folding. The goal: Be able to go out tomorrow and write. Yeah, I could wait a day, but my kids drive me nuts and I need a little break…before school starts on Monday. They got my nerves frazzled…

Friday night classic movietime: Adventures of Don Juan
I’m about to have some down time. The kids and dh are in bed asleep. Not me. I considered writing, but I am going to opt to lay on the couch and watch a movie. I already decided it is an Errol Flynn movie night. I was trying to think of which, and I decided on Adventures of Don Juan. Not sure why I always turn to a Flynn film when I need some recharging. He’s my favorite, and that’s all I need. When I was five, I saw him in Adventures of Robin Hood, and I was in love. Love the rogue, the rascal, the daring lover. Probably why I write romance today. I’m still dreaming of a rogue, a rascal, a daring lover.

What’s your fetish?
I apologize for the lack of posting. I have been busy the past few days, as I knew I would. Getting ready for school to start Monday and trying to keep cool in this horrid heat. Add in that I came up with an idea for a holiday Quickie for Ellora’s Cave–2 days before the synopsis is due–and working like mad to have a grasp on the story to get a proposal together. I hope they haven’t gotten this idea yet for the Merry Kinkmas stories. I have the story outlined, but no title. Ugh!
Think. Think. Think.

The Idea Book
Yesterday evening I wrote on my Marine novel in a Moleskine, and then I was jotting down ideas for future projects. I have a trilogy of BDSM novellas I am planning for Ellora’s Cave, a novella for Imajinn for an anthology with MA DuBarry (contracted!), and Captain Mendoza’s story. I also have a series in the works with Samara King and an anthology with Annmarie, both paranormal.
Black Heart’s Bride got a title change to Black Heart’s Prize, which I totally love! I wanted to put out a new pirate book because of the upcoming POTC movie. New pirate movie+renewed interest in pirates=good time to have a pirate romance! Anyway, Captain Mendoza will meet his destined love, but there will be definite barriers… I’m taking a classic theme involving a pirate….no, I don’t think I will tell more. I’d originally intended it to be historical, but since Sea Hawk’s Mistress was paranormal, that will continue into BHP. I want to write an additional book to follow BHP…no title as of yet.
Honestly, the idea book is filling up fast. I may need to get a bigger book!

SQUEEE!! Jack Sparrow returns in On Stranger Tides (Teaser video!)
Okay…totally excited to see the teaser of Johnny Depp as Captain Jack Sparrow for the movie shooting now. POTC 4 comes out next May. Not sure, but I may be needing to make sure I write a new pirate adventure. Maybe I should work on Captain Mendoza’s story, Blackheart’s Bride. (Captain Mendoza was from Sea Hawk’s Mistress.)
Update @5:15pm: The video was deleted.I don’t know why. You’d think the movie folks would WANT the public to get excited.

Exhausted…and going back to bed.
For some reason, I can’t seem to get started today. The kids even got up late. (Shocker!) I got sleep, but I just want to go back to bed. Er…could be I was up late last night. Later than I thought. That is the danger of having a messaging phone and the ability to get email anytime, anywhere. LOL
While the rest of the romance writing community is at Orlando for RWA National conference, I wish I was there too. I really love that conference. It is so pricey though. Next year it is in NYC. I would love to go. I haven’t been to NYC in ages. (I used to live across the river in NJ in college. I worked at the Sheraton Meadowlands and loved to stop for a few minutes on one of the top floors and gaze out over the city at night. The Empire State building was all lit up at Christmas time. Very pretty.)
I will do some writing today in my Moleskine. From bed. Damn, I’m exhausted. I think the summer home with children has gotten to me. (My living room looks like a My Little Pony classroom. Don’t ask.) Ugh…

One week to go….FREEDOM!
Had a productive day today. Went down to Tallahassee and wrote. I am happy with the scene so far. I love it when a scene comes together. The banter between my hero and heroine is fun to write. Honestly, I wonder if can keep up with them as they go at it with their Battle of Wills. (hint: she will lose…LOL!)
Two words: ONE WEEK. One week until the kids go back to school. Not sure if I will do the Snoopy dance or fall to my knees in the school courtyard and say “Thank you, God.” I have a few “end of summer break” activities to do with my kids this week, like shopping for new shoes, school supplies, etc. Joy. I am also taking them to the pool and another trip to Wild Adventures. We went to WA about every week this summer. The girls will remember it for the rest of their lives–the summer with mommy at Wild Adventures. *grin* I have several memories from the summer I will cherish…like when my one daughter met a boy…she claims “he picked her up”. He was an older man (11) and quite smitten. Very cute.
I hope things go smoother this year with the girls and their classes. I think they are ready to be separated. They’ve been together in their main class up until now. It is time. Also, I hope the little boy that made crude suggestions to them last year is NOT in their classes. Ever since I had to go to the principal about his inappropriate behavior, he’s tried to get them in trouble–because he got in trouble. Kids…
(I considered putting a picture from Braveheart on the post, but MG makes me ill.)
